Location: I95 north- west on Lake Mead- Summerlin begins when you pass buffalo (south) and continues all the way and past Sun City.

Description: Summerlin has won numerous awards nationally as one of the premier masterplanned communities in the U.S. Developed by Del Webb and Howard Hughes Corporation, the community has many different "villages" and is continuing to be developed. It will eventually grow as far south as Tropicana. Right now it is bordered on the east by Vegas Drive, north by Cheyenne, west by Hualapai, and south-? There exist within Summerlin a premier senior only community called "SUN CITY". This community has exceeded the wildest expectations of all developers and price per foot is probably one of the most expensive in town. Sun City is huge, over 2500 homes and features 2 golf courses, multiple community facilities including indoor pool, as well as some fantastic views both of the golf and the city.

SID FEES - All Summerlin residents (with the exception of Sun City residents) pay an annual assessment known as Special Improvement District. When Summerlin was first developed, Del Webb built all the infrastructure including major roads to the development. Consequently as each homeowner moves in a new home, there is an annual assessment paid up to the year 2016. The amount varies on the builder and how they decided to allocate it. Average fee for a $150k home- approximately $600 per year. These association fees cover the costs of greenbelts, parks, and in some cases security gate fees.

Proximity to town: About 12-15 miles from the strip.

Schools: There are a good many private schools located in Summerlin including: The Meadows School, Merryhill School, The Hebrew Academy and others. Public schools include: Lummis Elementary, Piggott Elementary, Becker Jr High and Cimmaron-Memorial High.
